Three real estate development companies have been expelled from the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) for being involved in anti-constitutional activities of the organisation.

The decision was taken at the 14th meeting of the board of directors of REHAB on Monday, said a press release issued by REHAB.

Vice President (VP) of the association, Liakat Ali Bhuiyan also voluntarily stepped down from his post during the meeting, the release said.

The expelled companies are: MBK Builders Limited (REHAB Membership Number 528/2008), SSRM Developers Limited (REHAB Membership Number 714/2009) and Dipti Abashan Limited (REHAB Membership Number 1388/2014).

From now on, the expelled companies may not enjoy any facilities or do real estate business using seals, billboard advertisements or digital advertisements that contain their former REHAB membership identification numbers. They are also prohibited from identifying themselves as REHAB members, the release added.
