A K M Delwar Hussain was appointed to the position at the board meeting of the company held on 15 March.

Premier Cement appoints new independent director

A K M Delwar Hussain, president of South Asian Federation of Accountants (Safa), has been appointed as independent director of Premier Cement Mills Limited.

He was appointed as an independent director at the board meeting of Premier Cement Company held on 15 March, said a press release of ICMAB.

 He was two time elected president of the Institute of Cost and Management Accounts of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and is currently a member of the council.

 He is principal and CEO of A K M Delwer Hussain and Associates. 

 AKM Delwar is currently also director of Agrani Equity and Investment Limited (A subsidiary of Agrani Bank Limited).

He was the chairman of a state-owned Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) from 2014 to 2019. Prior to that, he was the director (Finance) of BSFIC.
