Nagad to celebrate 50 achievements of Bangladesh’s 50 years

Nagad, the digital financial service of the postal division, is planning to present 50 achievement stories of Bangladesh to the people of the country throughout this year.

Bangladesh is due to celebrate its 50th Independence Day within a few days. There have been a lot of success stories to the country's crown in all these years. These stories are models for many countries and societies across the world, Nagad said in a press statement on Monday.

Nagad will celebrate these success stories under a new initiative called "Bijoy theke orjone (1971-2021)." The accomplishments will be presented from Independence Day to Victory Day. Bangladesh Pratidin, a daily Bengali-language newspaper, and television channel News24 are the media partners of the initiative of Nagad.

The initiative will select 50 of Bangladesh's numerous success stories to publish and air.

The list of stories includes winning a maritime boundary dispute; sending a satellite to space; constructing the Padma Multipurpose Bridge, the River Karnaphuli Tunnel and the Dhaka Metro Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), etc.

In addition, the exceptional success stories of various ministries and agencies will be highlighted. The achievements of Nagad, one of the most successful stories of the postal division in its 100 years of history, will be presented as well.

Speaking about the initiative, Tanvir A Mishuk, managing director of Nagad, said, "The glorious Liberation War acts as an inspiration for us to move forward. We are fortunate for the opportunity to work as a partner in the country's journey forward. As part of the partnership, we will try to tell the extraordinary stories of the country on the Golden Jubilee of Independence."

Mohammad A Arafat, chairman of the Suchinta Foundation, has joined with Nagad to help make the initiative a success.

He said, "Bangladesh has achieved a lot in the last 50 years by overcoming a history of deprivation and sacrifice through gaining independence in 1971. Through this initiative, some stories will be told under the initiative. And this event will make every patriotic citizen of Bangladesh proud."
