In response to the continuing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, MetLife Bangladesh has launched a first-of-its-kind '3-hour claims decision' service for Covid-19 death claims of coverage up to Tk20 lakh.
With this fast track service, in addition to receiving the claims decision in three hours, beneficiaries of deceased policyholders will also receive the claims amount in three working days through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), reads a press release on Saturday.
At this stage, the service is applicable for only individual life policies, it added. The policy must be active for two years without reinstatement, it added.
Regarding the service, MetLife Bangladesh's General Manager, Ala Ahmad said, "In times like this, it is our duty to do what we can to serve our customers. This '3-Hour Covid Claim Decision' is our latest effort to respond to the pandemic situation in Bangladesh."
According to MetLife's website, this claims decision service can be availed by sending an email to email@example.com by 12:30pm on a working day with a set of documents, including death report and Covid-19 test report of the policyholder.
Any claims request received after the cut-off time will be processed (decision making) on the next working day. Beneficiaries will receive SMS notifications on the progress of their claim requests.
The service will remain open till 30 June 2021, with MetLife reserving the right to extend or decrease the duration at its discretion.
