Marico Bangladesh Ltd and Dhaka Half Marathon (DHM) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote fit and active lifestyle among people.

The MoU was signed during a programme held at Marico's office in Dhaka, said a press release on Sunday.

The signing was conducted to celebrate the partnership between Marico's premium edible oil brand Saffola Active and "Glaxose-D Dhaka Half Marathon 2020", an event organised by the Dhaka Half Marathon annually.

Dhaka Half Marathon 2020, the annual signature running event consists of a 21km half marathon and a 7.5km run.

Elias Ahmed, chief financial officer (CFO) of Marico Bangladesh, and Imtiaz Ilahi, convener of the Dhaka Half Marathon, signed the agreement on behalf of the respective companies.

Elias Ahmed said, "We have always been aware of promoting better health through our products and offerings. This memorandum is intended to complement our efforts in promoting healthy habits and an active lifestyle."

Imtiaz Ilahi, Convener of the DHM, said, "We feel really honoured to be a part of such a partnership. The marathon has already inspired a lot of people to stay fit. We hope to continue inspiring people in the coming days."

Allen Ebenezer Eric, marketing director of Marico, was also present among others at the event.
