Guardian Life launches new term life insurance ‘Guardian Shield’

As a tribute to National Insurance Day 2021, Guardian Life introduced a new term life insurance plan 'Guardian Shield' which offers life coverage at very nominal prices to protect the financial future of the policyholder's family.

Guardian Shield also offers an easy platform to avail the much-needed hospitalisation coverage and critical illness coverage, reads a press release on Sunday.

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has been an eye opener that clearly made everyone realize the importance of a financial safety net and the necessity of insurance coverage in case of hospitalization, it added.

The policy is very easy to avail as it offers much lower premium rates compared to endowment insurance products.

Guardian Shield customers can avail life coverage of Tk1 lakh for as low as Tk203 per year, with maximum coverage of Tk1 crore; hospitalisation coverage of Tk50,000 for as low as Tk1500 per year, with maximum coverage of Tk5 lakh and critical illness coverage of Tk50,000 for a minimum of Tk31 taka per year, with maximum coverage of 50% of sum assure or Tk10 lac, whichever is lower. This plan offers yearly and single premium payment options.

Regarding the launch of the new insurance plan, Sheikh Rakibul Karim, FCA, acting CEO, Guardian Life Insurance, said,"Guardian Shield is a unique product that is aimed at people who want only life coverage and rider benefits like hospitalisation and critical illness coverage from their insurance product. It is really inexpensive and doesn't require heavy financial commitment unlike the regular endowment products."

The official inauguration programme took place recently at Guardian Life's head office at Police Plaza Concord. Shamim Ahmed EVP and Chief Operating Officer; Mohammad Masuduzzaman Khan, EVP and head of Underwriting and Policy Servicing Department, and Rubayat Saleheen, SVP and head of Marketing and Communication Department along with other top management were present among others at the programme.
