A field demonstration of the modern Japanese paddy cutting, threshing, cleaning and packaging machine Yanmar Combine Harvester has been organized at Manikganj Jute Research Institute.
This demonstration programme had been initiated by ACI Motors on 1 December, read a press release.
The exalted guests list include Md Benojir Alam, the project director of crop yield enhancement through farm mechanization project at DAE (Department of Agriculture Extension), Md Shahjahan Ali Biswas, deputy director at DAE (Manikganj Sadar); Subrata Ranjan Das, executive director at ACI Motors, Upazilla Agriculture Officer and other high officials of Manikgnaj Jute Research Institute.
Paddy of 1 acre or 100 decimals can be cut, threshed, cleaned and packaged within 1 hour with Yanmar Combine Harvester and it takes only 8-20 litres of fuel to harvest this amount of land, read the press statement.
Besides, Yanmar is suitable for both dry and muddy land. Also, lodged paddy can easily be harvested with this harvester.
Moreover, this harvester features 6 sensors that prevent sudden engine breakdown. Traditionally, it takes 1 day and 17-20 labours to harvest the paddy of 1 acre (100 decimal) of land whereas, it takes only 1 hour and 2 labours to harvest the paddy of same amount land with Yanmar Harvester. For 1 acre of land, Yanmar Harvester costs only BDT 2000-2200.
