International Beverages Private Limited (IBPL) will distribute masks, at 25 points across the country, in the next few months to fight the second wave of Covid-19, read a press release.
Coca-Cola, the international beverage brand, has initiated a countrywide campaign to inspire people to wear masks and share its support for the government's move to enforce strict mask-wearing rules amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Tapas Kumar Mondal, managing director of IBPL, which has been operating the business of Coca-Cola in Bangladesh, inaugurated the social initiative at a scaled-down event in Gulshan 1 in the capital on Saturday.
Regarding the initiative, IBPL Managing Director Tapas Kumar Mondal said, "Wearing a mask is a good practice which can save lives by capping infections."
He also emphasised the importance of wearing a mask correctly – covering both the mouth and nose.
Operating in Bangladesh with cent percent foreign direct investment, Coca-Cola employs over 800 people directly and provides employment to over 3,000, stated the press release.
Maintaining the secret taste of Coca-Cola products, the company produces a few beverage products in a state-of-the art manufacturing plant in Mymensingh.
Coca-Cola's beverages include: Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Kinley Water, Kinley Soda, Coca-Cola Zero, Sprite Zero, and Thums Up Current.
