Central bank organises photo exhibition on development projects

The Bangladesh Bank's Mujib Year Celebration Committee has organised a photo exhibition on the mega development projects of the country titled 'Bangladesh on the Highway of Development' on Thursday afternoon.

The bank's Governor Fazle Kabir inaugurated the exhibition at its central office in Motijheel.

Kabir said the central bank is celebrating the Mujib Year as part of the national celebration. This photo exhibition is a part of it.

He said Bangabandhu raised Bangladesh from an undeveloped country to an underdeveloped one.

"Now, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina we will finally graduate to a developing country," he added.

The central bank governor hoped Bangladesh will also rise to be a middle-income country by this period.

The photo exhibition highlighted mega development projects, including Padma Bridge, Dhaka Metro Rail, Karnafuli Tunnel, etc.

Speaking about the projects, the governor said, "We all will have to work from our respective positions to implement development projects alongside the prime minister's leadership."

Also, speaking on the occasion, Abu Farah Md Naser, the newly appointed deputy governor of the central bank, said, "Bangladesh has become a role model of development under the leadership of the prime minister. The country will continue on its next development journey under her leadership."

Ahmed Jamal, Saidur Rahman, Sajedur Rahman, deputy governors of the central bank and members of its Mujib Year Celebration Committee were also present at the event.
