Four Beximco companies hold AGMs

Four listed companies of Beximco Group – Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) Limited, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Beximco Synthetics Ltd, and Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd – conducted their annual general meetings (AGMs) virtually on Saturday.

Salman F Rahman, vice chairman of each of the companies presided over the meetings, while Mohammad Asad Ullah, executive director and company secretary of these entities, conducted the shareholders' annual meetings.

Other directors and top executives of these entities also joined the meetings.

According to company statements, Beximco Limited will disburse a 5% cash dividend for the year ended on 30 June as the company's shareholders, at its 47th AGM, approved it.

In the year, the company had annual revenue of Tk 21,03.6 crore, gross profit of Tk 7,14.4 crore and net profit of Tk47.7 crore.

Meanwhile, shareholders of Beximco Pharmaceuticals at its 44th AGM, approved 15% cash and 10% stock dividends for the last fiscal year, against its annual sale of Tk2,561 crore, gross profit of Tk1,190 crore and net profit of Tk354 crore.

In the meantime, at the 29th AGM of Beximco Synthetics Limited – which is looking to delist from the stock exchange amid no hope of doing well in business – approved that there be no dividend for shareholders.

However, the shareholders approved the company's directors' report, audited financial statement, as well as the appointment of directors and auditors for the year 2020-21.

Additionally, Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd, seeing an improving bottom line, announced a 2% cash dividend for the last fiscal year at its 23rd AGM.

The company achieved annual sales of Tk120 crore and earned a gross profit of Tk18.6 crore, yielding Tk3.16 crore in net profit for the last fiscal year.
