bdtickets launches insurance facility for travelers

The country's largest online ticketing service, bdtickets has launched travel insurance coverage for travellers.

Being the forerunner in the online ticketing industry, bdtickets has come up with 5 different insurance facilities, including accidental death coverage, natural death coverage, accidental hospitalisation, trauma allowance and Covid travel insurance, said a media statement on Thursday.

By paying Tk10 premium per ticket, a traveller can avail of the insurance coverage within seven days of his or her journey in bus, launch or air.

If an insured passenger gets affected with Covid-19, he or she will be able to claim an insurance amount of Tk5,000 on condition that the test is conducted by a registered MBBS doctor along with other required documents.

If the insured person dies naturally or an accidental reason during the journey, the legal nominee of the covered person could claim the Natural Death Coverage of Tk25,000 and Accidental death coverage benefit of Tk1 lakh, the media statement read.

For any accidental hospitalisation due to an accidental injury while traveling with a ticket purchased from bdtickets, the customer shall be entitled to get a coverage up to Tk25,000 as per the special provisions and type of accident.

Travellers can claim insurance coverage up to Tk10,000 for any drowning, hijack, robbery or scam induced trauma.
Insurance claims can be submitted using the dedicated online claim form by providing necessary information and by attaching relevant claim documents, including scanned images, clear photographs of the medical and other relevant documents.

Customers can visit https://bdtickets.com/termsAndConditions for more details on how to claim and what documents to submit for realising insurance claim.
