Asia Insurance limited approves 10pc cash dividend

Asia Insurance Limited (Ltd) has approved 10% cash dividend for the year which ended on December 31, 2019.

The company officials made the announcement at their 20th annual general meeting (AGM) which was held virtually by using digital platform on Sunday, said a press release issued by Asia Insurance Ltd.

The meeting was presided over by the company's Sponsor Director and Chairman Yussuf Abdullah Harun. The company's Managing Director & CEO Md Imam Shaheen along with a large number of shareholders also participated in the virtual meeting.

During the year the company earned a gross premium of taka 63,19,03,211 and the profit before taxes was taka 10,52,35,339.

Company's total amount of assets at the end of the year stood at taka 176,92,06,702.

A good number of shareholders who participated in the discussions expressed their full satisfaction with the performance of the company.

The meeting re-elected 03 Directors from group A sponsor shareholders namely Yussuf Abdullah Harun, Khaleda Begum and Farzana Afroze.

The meeting also elected 03 Directors from group B public shareholders.

They are Bay-Leasing & Investment Limited represented by Tarik Sujat, Southeast Bank Limited represented by M Kamal Hossain and Chairman of MAKSONS Group Mohammad Ali Khokon.
