The body of an unidentified youth was recovered from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur Tuesday.

The park authorities had informed the Sreepur police in the morning when they saw the body lying in a bush in the Indrapur area adjacent to the boundary wall.

The deceased was choked with a belt and a yellow shirt while his mouth was covered with tapes.

Bangabandhu Safari Park officer-in-charge Tabibur Rahman said police and tourist police are at the spot investigating the matter.

Sreepur Police Station Sub-inspector Md Amjad Sheikh said the body was recovered around 9 am and it was being sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

"We suspect that the youth was strangled to death," he said.
