MPs should not try to safeguard criminals: PM
"I don't judge culprits by who they are or which political party they belong to ," she said adding that, "I see a criminal as a criminal only"

The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned the Members of Parliament (MPs) that the criminals should not be protected by the mass representatives, irrespective of their political identity.
She said, "Consider it a request from my end to the MPs that they should never try to protect perpetrators. Those who commit crimes and those who shield them are equally guilty."
She made the remark while responding to a supplementary question posed by BNP MP Advocate Harun-ur-Rashid during the question and answer session scheduled for the premier in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
"As you have seen earlier, I don't judge culprits by who they are or which political party they belong to ," she said adding that, "I see a criminal as a criminal only."
"I will not spare a criminal, even if he is one of the members of my party or a supporter. This is my policy and I follow it" she further added.
Ensuring the thorough investigation to identify the masterminds of the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam, she said, "We've already identified and arrested the culprits. It's also being investigated to find out who patronised them to carry out the attack."
"The culprits will surely be punished. I can at least say that we'll ensure it," the Prime Minister added
