Muslim Oikya Parishad activists could not hold their planned rally in Bhola Sadar defying a ban today due to the strong presence of the law enforcers.
The leaders of the parishad had announced to hold the rally at 3pm.
"We could not hold the rally due to the vigilance of police and other law enforcement agencies," said Mawlana Tariqul Islam, member of the parishad and general secretary of Islami Shashontantra Andolan of Bhola.
He added: "We will hold the rally when we get a chance."
The district administration on Monday imposed a ban on processions, meetings and rallies in the district until further notice following Sunday's fierce clash.
On Sunday, four people were killed and hundreds were injured in Borhanuddin upazila in clashes between police and local people demonstrating for punishment of a youth who, they claimed, had hurt their religious sentiment by a Facebook post.
