DSCC drives against illegal overhead cables, mosquito breeding grounds continue
DSCC mobile courts file nine cases, fine Tk87,500
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has continued its regular mobile court drives against illegal installations, overhead cables and Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.
Four mobile court drives of DSCC on Sunday filed nine cases and fined Tk87,500 in different parts of the city corporation areas, reads a press release.
A mobile court led by DSCC Executive Magistrate Kazi Md Faisal conducted a drive to identify mosquito breeding grounds in Nilkhet area.
During the drive, Faisal inspected 29 installations. As the DSCC official found Aedes mosquito larvae in two of them, he filed two cases against the owners and fined them Tk50,000.
Also, another mobile court, led by DSCC Executive Magistrate Ferdous Wahid, conducted a drive in Arambagh and Motijheel areas to identify Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.
During the drive, Ferdous inspected 45 installations and found Aedes mosquito larvae in four of them. So, he filed four cases and fined Tk35,000.
Also, a mobile court was conducted from Paltan intersection to VIP Tower in Naya Paltan area against illegal occupants and overhead cables.
DSCC Executive Magistrate Md Moniruzzaman led the drive.
During the drive, illegal cables were removed from 15 electric poles. And Nanna Biryani was fined Tk2,000 for its extension on the sidewalk.
Also, the mobile court evicted a temporary shop from Paltan-Naya
