UK companies interested to invest in Bangladesh's electricity and railway connectivity, and LNG sectors
UK team seeks Bida's cooperation
Two UK based companies, IM Power and TenBroeke Co, have jointly expressed interest in investing in the country's electricity and railway connectivity sector, said Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida), Md Shirajul Islam.
A five-member delegation, which included IM Power's Chairman Gordon Dickie, its Chief Executive Officer Elena Baranova, and TenBroeke's Managing Director Paul Tweedale, met with Shirajul at Bida headquarters.
At the meeting, the delegation praised Bangladesh's development success and showed interest to invest in the power transmission, railway connectivity, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.
They also exchanged views on the investment situation of the country and discussed the future of Bangladeshi businesses.
Responding UK team's request for cooperation, Sirajul said that Bida would be happy to provide the highest level of assistance to investors to build a friendly, pro-business environment in the country.
