The culprits are yet to be detained

Two children raped, one molested in Satkhira, Manikganj

A third-grader was allegedly raped by her neighbor in Asashuni upazila of Satkhira District. 

The mother of the child, who hails from Nasimabad village of the upazila, said, "Neighbor Torikul Islam, 18, called the child to his house saying he would show her pictures on his mobile phone on October 5. Torikul Islam fled when I rushed to his home when I heard my child screaming." 

Another third-grader was reportedly molested by her neighbor Islam Gazi at Adalatpur village in Asashuni Sadar on October 5. This molester also ran away when the girl started screaming, claimed her mother.  

Woman and child repression: Two lakh cases pending

Golam Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Asashuni Police Station, said, "Based on the allegations of the children's mothers, two separate cases have been filed. The child in the rape case was sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for medical examination, and the statement of the molested child has been taken."

"We are trying to detain the accused", said the OC.  

Meanwhile, another 5-year-old was raped in the Baliachar area of Manikganj on October 3. The accused Jamir Hossain, 40, is on the run. 

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Harirampur Police Station Mosharaf Hossain, said, "We are trying to file a case over the incident and catch the culprit."
