Sylhet's rail link with rest of the country snapped

The rail communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country has remained suspended following the derailment of four compartments of an oil-laden train in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj District.

A Sylhet bound oil-carrying train's four bogies derailed at Shahajibazaar at around 12:20 pm on Sunday, Atiqur Rahman, manager of Shayestaganj railway station confirmed.

As a result, the railway communication of Sylhet with the rest of the country has cut off, he further added.

Rail communication will be normalised soon as rescue work is underway.
