New coach of Brahmaputra Express Train inaugurated
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has inaugurated a new coach of Brahmaputra Express Train that runs on Dhaka-Dewanganj route.
The intercity train now will run with 16 coaches having a total of 795 seats.
Referring to the increase of train services across the country, the minister said rail lines are being constructed in every district across the country.
Responding to a demand by local leaders in Jamalpur's Dewanganj, the minister agreed to extend the route of Bijoy Express Train that runs between Chattogram and Mymensingh to Dewanganj Market. He also promised to extend the route of Jamalpur Express Train up to Dewanganj.
Aanother 50 more railway stations will be renovated by this year, the minister said, adding that Dewanganj Market Station will be modernised as well.
Among others, State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan, State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hasan, lawmaker Mirza Azam, Engineer Md Mozaffar, spoke in the programme, which was presided over by Bangladesh Railway's East Zone General Manager Md Jahangir Hossain.
