Cox's Bazar district administration has suspended tourist ship services on Teknaf-Saint Martin's waterway to curb the spread of Coronavirus during the second wave.

Tourist entry to the island will also remain suspended from today.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Parvez Chowdhury said, "To control the Covid-19 spread, we have decided to suspend traveling to the tourist spots in Teknaf, including Saint Martin's."

However, internal passenger vessels will move normally maintaining all the hygiene rules.

The UNO further added that legal action will be taken if the order is violated.
