Tornado destroys crops, hundreds of houses in Faridpur
The tornado attacked the villages around 6:30 am on Thursday.
Hundreds of houses in six villages of Faridpur's Saltha-Nagarkanda have been destroyed by a tornado. Thousands of trees have been uprooted. It has caused extensive damage to various crops including jute.

The one-minute tornado from the south-west destroyed 150 houses in Basuarkandi, Rahutpara, Meherdia of Gotti union of Saltha upazila and Gaherpur, Bibirkandi and Meherdia villages of Talma union of Nagarkanda upazila.
The administration and locals said that no casualties were reported.
Nagarkanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jeti Pray and Saltha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasib Sarkar told reporters that all kinds of cooperation including relief distribution would be provided to the affected families as soon as possible.
On Wednesday, the powerful Cyclone Yaas destroyed tens of thousands of mud houses in eastern India. The effect of the cyclone was felt in Bangladesh as well.
