Mobile phone services may be disrupted: BTRC
The subscribers may experience issues in making voice calls and accessing mobile data
Customers of the country's top three mobile phone network operators may face some service disruptions due to the rearrangement of the spectrum, said the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Wednesday.
The telecom regulator in a press release said the subscribers may face disruption from 11pm on 1 April to 7am on 2 April 2 in the first phase. Afterwards, the telecom services may be interrupted from 11pm on 7 April to 7am on 8 April.
During the time, the subscribers may experience issues in making voice calls and accessing mobile data.
On 8 March, BTRC through auction allotted new spectrum to Grameenphone, Robi Axiata and Banglalink.
According to the BTRC, the rearrangement is for merging the newly allocated spectrum with the existing ones.
The telecom also regulator regretted the temporary inconvenience of the telecom subscribers.
