The mayor said this while visiting Fakirkhali area of ward 75 of Dhaka South City Corporation
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has directed that all unauthorised housing projects, in areas under the jurisdiction of the city corporation, be stopped.
He gave the directive while visiting Fakirkhali area of ward 75 of the DSCC on Wednesday afternoon.
"Shut down all the housing projects that have not been approved by the city corporation," Taposh urged.
As part of the weekly inspection program, the DSCC Mayor, along with other officials of the organisation, visited many areas – Daserkandi, Balu Nadir Paar, Kayetpara Bazar, Ederkandi, and Fakirkhali from Trimohini Gudaraghat – by boat, from the morning.

"We have already instructed our property department about this and if necessary, we will confiscate the vehicles and equipment of the companies carrying out unapproved construction activities," the mayor added.
DSCC CEO A B M Amin Ullah Nuri, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Badrul Amin, Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman, Secretary Md Akramuzzaman, Chief Property Officer Russell Sabrin, and Chief Revenue Officer Ariful Haque were present during the inspection, among others.
