The government has allowed all cinema halls in the country to reopen from October 16 after being closed for more than six months.
However, the popular cinema hall Star Cineplex will reopen on October 23.
Star Cineplex's senior manager of media and marketing, Mesbah Uddin Ahmed said that they will start operations from October 23 to take all necessary preparations to ensure the health of visitors and their employees.
He said many of their staff were out of Dhaka due to the long shutdown, adding that steps were being taken to ensure their health - including testing for coronavirus and keeping them in quarantine if necessary, after receiving permission from the government to open a cinema hall.
The multiplex was closed from March 19 due to the outbreak of coronavirus. At the same time all the other cinema halls of the country were also closed.
