Son accused in Rifat murder case, father gets 5 years jail in dowry case

Detective Branch (DB) of Barguna Police has arrested Md Delowar Hossain, father of Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, the third adult accused in the Rifat Sharif murder case.
According to the Barguna DB Police Officer in-Charge (OC) Md Harun ar Rashid, Delowar Hossain was arrested on a dowry case filed by his wife, where he has been given five years of jail.
Delowar Hossain was arrested from the area adjunct to Barguna Circuit House ground around 1:30 pm on Monday.
"Azibun Nahar Lina, Delowar Hossain's wife, filed a dowry case against him in 2018. The case was filed under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal in Barguna," OC Harun Ar Rashid added.
OC Harun Ar Rashid added: "On February 10, Judge Hafizur Rahman of Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal sentenced Delowar to five years in prison. Delowar has been on the run before that. He was caught today based on a tip-off."
In this regard, OC of Barguna Sadar Police Station Abir Mohammad Hossain said: "Father of the third adult convict in Rifat murder case, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat's father Delowar Hossain will be sent to jail today on a dowry case."
