Lack of social security discourages women in the country from doing businesses, says Alhamra Nasreen Hossain Luiza, chairman of publication house Borno Prokash Limited.
She made the comment while addressing the launching ceremony of 'Adhora Food' at Modhumoti Model Town in Savar's Amin Bazar recently.
With the slogan 'We will build a healthy life with safe food', Adhora Food court is launched to ensure people's rights to safe and nutritious foods.
"Businesswomen fall victim to sexual harassment while dealing with males. They face negative behaviour from male counterparts in business transaction. Males underestimate the capacity of females, and they are not eager to pay dues to businesswomen," Luiza said.
For creating a business friendly environment for women, she suggested to make an arrangement of capital for doing business and ensure social security and necessary support from families.
Dr ATM Rezaul Haque, chief adviser to Borno Prokash, and Mukter Hossain, manager of Borno, spoke at the event.
