Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s new book titled “Amader Chhoto Russel Shona,” has been published from Bangla Academy recently.
The book revolves around the short-lived yet vivid life of Sheikh Russel, the youngest child of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The book tells the story of the 10 year old’s eventful life, ranging from the time he spent with his parents, siblings to his struggle while in imprisonment with the relatives.
The simplicity and the style of Sheikh Hasina’s story telling created a stir among the readers.
The book also tells about the untimely demise of Sheikh Russel as he was brutally murdered along with his family in 1975’s coup.
On 21st page of the book, Sheikh Hasina wrote, “In every 15 days, we used to visit the jail to see my father.”
“Russel was never willing to return home from the jail and we used to struggle a lot to make him understand. We could understand what was going through father’s mind,” she shared her experiences with her youngest brother.
Sheikh Hasina dedicated her book to all the children of the world.
