Several supporters of DNCC mayor candidate Atiqul Islam have been injured in a clash with the followers of rebel candidate Jahidur Rahman Dulal in capital's Niketan area.
The clash took place during Atiqul Islam's electoral campaign, Somoy TV reports quoting witnesses.
A rally was passing through the area on Wednesday afternoon when mayor candidate Atiqul was also present at the spot.
Some chairs were vandalised during the clash.
Police personnel rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
