Public transport will remain closed till May 16
The vehicles engaged in emergency services will not be allowed to take passengers
The government has decided to extend the closure of public transport till May 16 in line with the general holiday extension decision to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
However, the transport of emergency services including power, water, gas and fuel will remain out of the purview of the restriction, said a press release issued by the Road Transport and Highways Division today.
Besides, the restriction will not be applicable to other sectors related to peoples' daily and emergency needs.
