Road accident kills 4 members of a family in Tangail, including teacher couple
One of the deceased’s brothers said his family members had been travelling to a doctor’s visit

Four members of the same family, including a teacher couple, were killed when a bus hit a CNG-powered auto rickshaw at Rabna Intersection of Tangail City Bypass Road on Friday afternoon.
The deceased are: Al-Amin, 54, principal of Bhodroshimul Dakhsin Government Primary School under Bhuapur upazila in the district; his wife Sheuli Khatun, 43; his father Md Sohrab Ali, 65; and his mother Saleha Begum, 60.
The accident also left Al-Amin's sister Hajera Begum, and the autorickshaw driver Ferdous Tarafdar injured and they were admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
Matiur Rahman, sub-inspector of the Elenga Highway police outpost, said people in the area rescued the six passengers, including the CNG driver, and took them to Tangail General Hospital where Sheuli Khatun died.
"Later, Al-Amin, Sohrab Ali and Saleha Begum, who were seriously injured, died while being prepared to be taken to Dhaka for better treatment," added Matiur.
Al-Amin's brother Nazrul Islam said his family members had been going to Tangail to see a doctor for his sick mother, Saleha Begum.
At noon, a policeman called from his brother's phone to report that everyone had been injured in the accident. The policeman advised Nazrul to go to Tangail General Hospital but he only found their bodies when he arrived.
Matiur Rahman said the bus has been seized but its driver has escaped.
