Refrain from circulating ‘untrue’ news on health division addl secy: Govt to media

The Health Services Division has directed all print and electronic media outlets to refrain from circulating "untrue" news, images or video clips associated with its Additional Secretary Kazi Jebunnesa Begum.

In a directive signed by Deputy Secretary Anjuman Ara, the health division said the image/video that is being circulated mentioning Kazi Jebunnesa is not actually associated with her. As a state official and general citizen, the issue defamed her in personal, familial, social and professional sphere, it added.

The health division described the assault on Daily Prothom Alo's senior reporter Rozina Islam inside the Secretariat as "undesired".

The directive was issued to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Press Information Department on Thursday night.
