A two-day-long annual conference hosted by Public Works Department (PWD), in cooperation with Aqua Paints and Elite Steel, was inaugurated on February 23 at the Purta Bhaban in the capital's Shegunbagicha.

Sharif Ahmed, the state minister of Ministry of Housing Public Works, inaugurated the PWD Annual Conference 2020.

The minister praised development strategies driven by engineers working for the country.

Secretary of the ministry Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker requested engineers to strictly monitor their field of work.

Aqua Paints and its sister concern Elite Steel jointly hosted a technical knowledge sharing session where the two companies brandished products with competitive features.

"Our multi-generation family business has been supporting the country's infrastructure development for close to 70 years, and aspire to continue doing so with the support of Public Works Department," said the group's director Shayaan Seraj.

He requested the department to give high quality local brands an opportunity to bid on upcoming projects.

PWD chief engineer Ashraful Alam and chief architect Aminur Rahman were present at the event, along with other senior engineers and architects.
