Dr Md Imdadul Hoque, professor at Botany department and dean of Biological Science faculty of Dhaka University, has been appointed as vice-chancellor of Jagannath University. 

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued a gazette notification regarding his appointment today. 

Dr Hoque has been recruited as vice-chancellor as per the approval of the President in accordance with the Jagannath University Act 2005, the notification reads.
