Nowadays, many organisations launch initiatives with soaring aims to fit themselves to the criteria of "innovative organisation". However, they stick to the classics. Their work isn't surrounded by the most bewildering ideas, yet they serve their purpose way above its setting. They are the supporters, the contributor to all unprivileged families, they are The Poverty Stop.
Poverty Stop has just begun its endeavour for the improvement of society through serving the fundamental needs of families from poverty-stricken backgrounds and entitling the young bloods along with motivating volunteerism in Bangladesh.
Volunteers of Poverty Stop organisation arranged their first campaign named "Bijoyer Dhoni" on 16 December to collect and distribute clothes among people amid the Covid-19 pandemic. They have created large banners to alert people for donations of clothes and funds. Soon after, their goals in the funding region were reached, with which they bought new blankets and heavy winter clothes.
Volunteers with the initiative to donate countless numbers of winter clothes and blankets – participated in this campaign from their respective districts, and set out to raise mass distribution by taking to the streets.
Due to the generous number of donations, the campaign stretched out to a three days event. Hence, the organisation decided to expand their routes for donations. For example, for day one, they distributed around 600 pieces of winter clothes in Uttara. For day two, they went out to Bashundhara Residential Area and for their final day of this purposeful event, they distributed amongst the labours of City Corporation, who take on the heavy toll of work at early sunrise to keep the city dust free for all during the hard times of Covid-19. They have, successfully, distributed around 1300 clothes by the end of the event.
To help these children and their families, who are among the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 outbreak, Poverty Stop wishes to stand by their sides in this fight and help them withstand just as we all are doing from most of our warm homes.
