LDP leader Redwan detained at Dhaka airport
Confirming the matter, SM Kayum, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Airport police station, said, “Redwan was headed to Chattogram to attend a party meeting. When his bag was passing through scanner, a magazine and seven bullets were detected.”
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) General Secretary Redwan Ahmed was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday for carrying seven rounds of bullets and a magazine.
Confirming the matter, SM Kayum, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Airport police station, said, “Redwan was headed to Chattogram to attend a party meeting. When his bag was passing through scanner, a magazine and seven bullets were detected.”
He said, “The airport authority handed him to us.”
During the primary interrogation Redwan claimed that he had mistakenly carried the items in his bag to airport.
“We are now trying to learn his motive,” said OC Kayum.
