Khaleda is still not free of ailment: Fakhrul

Although BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been moved from the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) to a special cabin, she is yet to recover from her ailments, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday.

"Madam (Khaleda) was moved to a special cabin on Thursday, when she suffered from some post-Covid complications in the ICU. She has heart and kidney problems and is also suffering from a blood infection," he said, speaking at a press conference.

She has recovered from the infection with the sincere care of physicians, the senior politician said, adding that "maybe she was shifted to a cabin as the probability of infections was high at the CCU."

The BNP Chief was diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 14 and was admitted to Evercare Hospital on April 27. After six days, she was shifted to the CCU as she was having breathing problems.

Although Khaleda recovered from the deadly disease, she is still struggling to make complete recovery.
