Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today said the conspiracy to divert his party's vision, to liberate countrymen from the hand of dictatorial government, will not succeed.
He made the remarks during a protest rally organised by the Nationalist Freedom Fighters Council and the Generation of Liberation War at the National Press Club on Sunday morning.
Regarding cancellation of former president and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman's "Bir Uttam" title, the senior politician said, "Those who have decided to revoke the title, they have no jurisdiction to do it."
He further said, "Ziaur Rahman was the first to start rescuing Bengali soldiers and arrested Pakistani soldiers in 1971. According to his name, Z Force was formed then."
Warning the ruling Awami League, Khandaker Mosharraf further said, "You rigged the elections and are now reigning illegally. Your hands will be burnt once with the fire you are playing with currently."
BNP chairperson's advisor Abdus Salam and standing committee member Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy were present among others in the rally.
