BNP denied permission for today’s rally
DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam rejected the application saying, “the party cannot block the streets and hold any rally in Dhaka on a working day.”

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has not given permission to BNP for holding its protest rally in the capital today.
DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam rejected the application saying, "The party cannot block the streets and hold any rally in Dhaka on a working day."
The DMP commissioner made this statement after BNP leaders announced to hold a rally in front of the party's Nayapaltan office to protest against the December 30 national elections held last year.
BNP also planned to hold rallies across the country to observe the first anniversary of 11th national election terming it as "democracy killing day".
