Awami League need to take actions against intruders: Information Minister

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has stressed wiping out the intruders into Bangladesh Awami League.

People, who used to oppose the Awami League once, had intruded into the party and got positions in it, said the minister.

"We need to take actions against them," he said this as the chief guest in a view-exchange meeting with the party's Cox's Bazar unit at the circuit house in the district town on Saturday.

The genuine Awami Leaguer deserved positions in the party, he added.

As the party had been in power for three terms, everyone wanted to be a member of the Awami League, Hasan Mahmud said.

"Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced zero tolerance against drugs. Hence, the party men should work in eradicating drugs from the country," he added.

District Awami League President Advocate Sirajul Mostafa chaired the meeting while Awami League Central Deputy Publicity and Publication Secretary Aminul Islam, Cox's Bazar district Awami League General Secretary and also Mayor of Cox's Bazar municipality Mojibur Rahman and former law maker Abdur Rahman Bodi were present at the programme.
