Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Director General of Islamic Foundation Shamim Mohammad Afzal.

She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Shamim Mohammad passed away at a city hospital on Friday night at the age of 63.

Shamim Mohammad Afzal left behind by wife, daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was the DG of the Islamic Foundation from 2009 to 2019.
