Marking the upcoming occasion of Bangla New Year-1428, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has greeted national parliament speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, opposition leader Begum Rowshan Ershad and deputy leader of the opposition Golam Mohammad Qader.

On behalf of the premier, her protocol officer (2) Md Abu Jafar Raju delivered the greeting cards to the private secretaries of the respective persons.

The Bangla New Year-1428 is scheduled to be celebrated on 14 April on a limited scale this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The Dhaka University authorities will hold a Mongol Shobhajatra on the Fine Arts Institute Premises with participation of 100 selected individuals.

Arrangements will be made to stream the programme live on television so that people can enjoy the occasion staying safe home amid the Covid-19 outbreak.
