Planning minister faces accident en route to Sunamganj

Planning Minister MA Mannan on Wednesday had an accident on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway while on his way to his constituency in Sunamganj.

The incident took place at 7am at Nilkuthi bus stand under Raipura upazila.

The minister told The Business Standard that a private car lost control and crashed into his car. "The car had an underage driver. However, we did not suffer any damage due to the low speed of the car."

Later, Mannan reached Sunamganj by another vehicle with his security protocol. He was accompanied by his personal assistant Humayun Kabir.

The minister was going to Sunamganj to distribute relief among poor people. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka next Saturday.
