Petrol pump, tank-lorry owners call 3-day strike in Khulna
They also demanded stopping police harassment during the movement of tanks and lorries in the region
The Bangladesh Fuel Oil Distributors' Association, Bangladesh Tank-Lorry Owners' Association and Khulna Division Tank-Lorry Workers' Union jointly will go on a strike with 16-point demands from November 5 to 7 in Khulna along with greater Faridpur.
The associations made the announcement at a special meeting held today at the Jashore Press Club.
The leaders called for stopping of misbehaviours and illogical fines on fuel oil businessmen by executive magistrates, increasing existing commission in fuel oil sales to at least 7 percent and clarifying whether businessmen are commission agents or production institutions.
They also demanded stopping police harassment during the movement of tanks and lorries in the region.
The leaders warned of tougher action if the demands are not met.
The meeting was presided over by Khulna Division Fuel Oil Distributor Association's President Abdul Gaffer Biswas.
