The Oxford-AtraZeneca vaccine will be brought in Bangladesh within one month of the approval from the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), said Nazmul Hasan Papon, managing director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals.

"Earlier, we had an idea that the vaccine would come in January or February. As complexities arose over the issue, now I would request the government to send money in advance and authorise the jab as per rules. The vaccine can be bought as soon as these formalities are done," he said while talking to reporters in Dhaka on Monday evening.

He assured that the vaccine can be brought soon if all the formalities are done quickly.

However, he ruled out the deal to be a government to government (G2G) one. "It is a tripartite agreement. The deal has no business with the Indian government. It is solely private," he added.
