Senior journalist Khandaker Muniruzzaman, acting editor of Dainik Sangbad, died of Covid-19 on Tuesday morning. He was 73.
The journalist, also member of Jatiya Press Club, was undergoing treatment at Mugda General Medical College Hospital in the capital since October 31.
He breathed his last around 7:40am.
Muniruzzaman, also columnist and political analyst, started his career with weekly Ekota in 1970.
He had been the acting editor of Sangbad since 2003.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Journalist Khandaker Muniruzzaman.
Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, Dhaka Union of Journalists, National Press Club and Dhaka Reporters' Unity have expressed grief over his demise.
