Miaz Uddin Khan, father of Shakhawat Moon, deputy press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, died in Dhaka early today.
He breathed his last at around 12.50 am at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), said a press release.
Freedom fighter Miaz Uddin Khan was the chairman of Madaripur District Council. He was also served as administrator of the council.

He was the president of greater Faridpur unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League. Also the president of Awami Jubo League's same unit.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Miaz Uddin Khan.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
PM's press wing also expressed deep sorrow at the death of Miaz Uddin Khan.
