Professor AHK Chowdhury

Professor AHK Chowdhury, a prominent cardiologist and former director of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), died from Covid-19 in the intensive care unit (ICU) of capital's Square Hospital early today.

He was a 29th batch student of Dhaka Medical College.

"The FDSR family is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Prof Dr AHK Chowdhury," said Dr Rahat Anwer Choudhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctor's Safety and Rights (FDSR), confirming his death to The Business Standard.

He, on behalf of FDSR, prayed for eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
