Former BEPZA chairman Syed Shahabuddin dies
He breathed his last on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH)
Colonel Syed Shahabuddin Ahmed (Retd), the former executive chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) died of Covid-19 on Thursday.
He breathed his last on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital. He was 78, said a media statement.
Syed Shahabuddin Ahmed joined the army through the 29th PMA Long Course.
Besides BEPZA, he was the chairman of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation, Bangladesh Parjaton Corporation, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, and managing director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation.
Till his death, he was the chairman of ABN Group.
He was buried at Banani graveyard after Thursday's Asar prayer. BEPZA deeply mourned his demise.
