Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Shegufta Bakht Chaudhuri passed away at United Hospital on Wednesday at 11.50am.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held after Maghrib prayers in the capital's Gulshan Azad Mosque.

Shegufta Bakht Chaudhuri was the fourth governor of Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of Bangladesh.

He served during 1987–1992. He was also an adviser to the first caretaker government of Bangladesh.
